Using multiple IPTV devices — stream limits
This page is for support, not shopping. It covers switching devices, leftover streams and what to do when you hit your concurrent limit. To buy more simultaneous streams, open the multi-device IPTV packages page.
Switching from one device to another
Close the app properly on the first device rather than leaving it paused or backgrounded. A stream that is still technically open continues to occupy a slot, which is the most common reason a household hits the limit with a screen nobody is watching.
On televisions, returning to the home screen is often not enough. Exit the app or power the device off.
“Already in use” when nobody is watching
Almost always a stream left open somewhere, as above. Check every device in the house, close the app on each, wait a minute or two for the slot to release, then try again.
If the message persists after every device is genuinely closed, tell us — at that point it is worth looking at the account rather than the hardware.
Planning a busy evening
Two things run out on a Saturday night: stream slots and bandwidth. They are separate limits and either can spoil the evening.
- Count how many people genuinely want different things at the same time, not how many live in the house.
- Remember every concurrent stream needs its own bandwidth, and 4K needs several times what HD does.
- Wire the main television if you possibly can, so the most important screen is not competing on Wi-Fi.
If the limit is regularly the problem
Then the plan is wrong for the household rather than the household being wrong for the plan. Get in touch and we will look at moving you to a term that covers the number of screens you actually use. The multi-device page explains how the terms differ.
