IPTV on LG Smart TV
Which sets work
LG televisions running webOS from roughly the last five years install and run the service without difficulty. Older sets depend on whether their app store still accepts new installations, which varies by model year.
Send us the model number if you want a definite answer before ordering.
The Magic Remote is an advantage
LG’s pointer remote is genuinely useful here. Moving through a long channel list with a cursor is quicker than nudging a highlight one row at a time with a directional pad, and entering access details is far less error-prone — which matters, because mistyped details are the most common cause of a failed first sign-in.
What to expect from webOS
Like Samsung’s platform, webOS is curated: you install from LG’s store and the choice of player is limited. We tell you which one to use, so the limitation is not a practical obstacle.
Older LG sets can be slow to redraw a large guide. If yours struggles, a streaming stick is a cheaper fix than a new television.

LG Smart TV specifics
LG webOS uses the Content Store and Magic Remote. Magic Remote pointer typing is fine for short logins but clumsy for long playlist URLs — prefer a player that accepts a short code or QR where we provide one after activation.
Common LG issues: store region mismatches, Magic Remote battery drain, and older webOS builds that cannot install modern players — then use an HDMI stick.
